It's probably worth what its going for atm, but for a general setup, it might be too much money. I've thought soo too, I like tube aswell, but I've always liked well built transistor amps that dont emulate tubes.īut yes, I listened alot to the AMS, on the very scarce videos I could find on the everlong youtube- It sounds wonderfull. As others have said just add in basic classic Boss effects. No tubes anywhere to be seen on that record which also gives it a unique tone. The basic guitar tone is all Jazzmaster into the Peavey Musician solid state amp, that head also has an amazing Phaser. It's unlike any chorus you've probably heard before. it also can do all sorts of wild stereo delays and flanging.and there was a box called the DMK Chorus Controller which was an add-on that turned it into an amazing chorus unit. Short term effect has classic AMS DMX delay and desending pitch shift on the vocals. Plus lots of double 's an amazing album for sonic creativity in the mixing.lots of hands on the desk during mixdown. Because as I said there was a lot of AMS DMX 1580 on that record, so most of what you are hearing are studio effects played around with on the fly during recording and/or mixing. You're best looking at subsequent live set-ups then. I have no idea what the heck he uses on the song A Short Term Effect If you listen to the song with headphones, I think he has a panner effect too the guitar kind of whirls in and out of the speakers. As for One Hundred Years, I think he's got a hell of a lot of delay. I mean I don't want to get the exact sound, just something that's good enough to sound like it. I really, really want to get those pedals but I think they cost quite a lot. I have a Digitech RP 150, but I don't like the sounds I get out of the chorus, delay, flanger and reverb. Sad I know but I've studied this record more than any other from a sonic perspective. There isnt actually much flanger on guitar on this album.some on the hanging garden.
